Buzz 4 BusinessAs I'm home sick today, I see Paula Dean making this on television. I know she's not looking out for our wastelines, but this looks good. This is Paula Dean's recipe, as found on the Food Network Web site.

My name is Cindy and I own Heart To Heart Seniorcare. I have helped seniors for the past 8 years, and I LOVE what I do! It's my "calling" in life! I feel there is alot of seniors and their loved ones out there that need our help, whether its in-home care, a place to find resources, a support group, dementia/alzhemier's information, how a senior can stay safe in their homes, how to avoid moving a senior to a nursing home/assisted living, providing respite care for loved ones and just someplace to get some answers. This group will hopefully do all that plus more!

Welcome to our home-based businesses group!
Hi I'm Angela Grosklags an LCC for Cultural Care. I have a group of au pairs with Cultural Care, but we would like to include all au pairs from the area.
I've gone and made an arguably bad situation worse. After agreeing to throw a bridal shower for one of my best friends, I've now volunteered - along with another good friend and fellow bridesmaid - to throw our friend's bachelorette party.
What was I thinking? I know they don't hand out Best Bridesmaid awards. I know I'm not scoring karma points. I'm not even GOOD at party planning, yet I feel compelled to be and do everything. Like a doctor, I should be forced to learn to first do no harm. Why don't bridesmaids have to take the Hippocratic Oath? We should.
I'm traversing more grown-up territory soon.
I bought my first plane ticket a few weeks ago, and in a few weeks, I am going to visit my best friend in Seattle. She's a University of Minnesota alum and has lived in Minnesota her entire life, but she's now doing Americorp in Seattle.
The furthest west I've ever been is Grand Forks, and I haven't flown since I was in eighth grade (that rite of passage known as the school D.C. trip, a ticket my parents purchased for me). This also means I haven't set foot on a plane since before September 11, 2001.
Being a grown up is hard. Being a grown up who lives in her parents' house is harder.
In my struggle to assert independence, contribute to the household in some way, and prepare myself for the inevitable move out to my own bachelorette pad, I'm learning to cook. I've added some great new recipes to my tiny college-bred repertoire, including spicy thai peanut chicken, coconut curry chicken and spinach and artichoke dip.
My new recipes allow me to make two courses of a meal: appetizers and entrees. I'd like to learn to make a complete meal, and round out a menu with some desserts.
I might be strange, but I'm the kind of person who loves a surprise. I enjoy performing and receiving random acts of kindness, I love throwing surprise parties, and if I wasn't so inquisitive, I might enjoy having one thrown for me.
I just saw the full version of the We Are The World recording to benefit the people and rebuilding of Haiti. I liked it. It was a good blend of old and new. I especially liked the Black Eyed Peas-Will.I.Am techno sound. The images of Haiti were stirring and well-done. Nice job!
After what seemed like the longest crawl through a pretty predictable awards season, things wrapped up with last night's Oscar ceremony. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) tried some new things last night, including replacing Best Song performances with interpretive dance routines to the pieces nominated for Best Score.
Who was your favorite Oscar winner from last night's telecast? Did you think Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin did a good job as co-hosts? What would you have changed from last night's telecast? Any snubs? Favorite surprises? Best speeches?
I have to thank Savage Pacer reporter Keighla Schmidt for inspiring today's topic.
Now that the sun is out, what winter rituals are you looking forward to leaving behind? Are there any new spring behaviors you're excited to adopt?
The signs of spring are all around us: the long-lasting sunshine, the drip of melting snow and the rush to finish income tax returns. With no signs of impending snow and temperatures forecasted to be as high as the 40s, is it time to break out the spring clothes? What's your rule when it comes to wearing warm weather clothes? Do you wait until you're sweating, until school's out, or is the first ray of sunshine your cue to put away the coat and put on the shorts?
I can't stop raving about last night's John Mayer show at the Xcel Energy Center. The set list ebbed and flowed in all the right spots and Mayer lived up to his title as one of "Rolling Stone" magazine's New Guitar Gods with his crazy riffs.
I think part of my excitement about the show stems from the long span of time since my last big concert (Death Cab for Cutie in Chicago's Aragon Ballroom, May 2009).
Rock fans: What is the last great live show you saw? Any big concerts coming up that you can't wait to see? Does anyone want to take me to U2's June show at TCF Bank Stadium?
Gleeks of the world unite!
Today news broke that the cast of "Glee," the Fox network's freshman musical comedy/drama will take their talent on the road this summer. While no Twin Cities stops are scheduled, the cast will stop in Phoenix, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York throughout late May.
Am I the only person absolutely giddy over this news? Is anyone else planning a trip to the Windy City to hear the cast rejoice in Queen's "Somebody to Love?" Gleeks, what songs are you most excited to hear? Any songs you think are better left in the studio and not on stage?
