I traditionally put away my black wool coatat Easter. That's my first spring changeover. As for skirts and shorts, that usually takes a little longer, and my cardigans and jackets never get packed away. I need them to keep warm in the office once the AC kicks in!

It depends on the famous

It depends on the famous person, I think. Some of them legitimately communicate with their fans (I know of one lead singer who actually put a bunch of Brazilian fans on the guest list of a concert because they were tweeting that they couldn't get tickets to his band's show). Others act like it breaks down that wall between celebrity and regular Joe/Jane, but then they rarely if ever respond to their fans and instead use Twitter as another vehicle for their narcissism.

I will say, if I was a celebrity, I'd be a little scared - some of the tweets they get from fans are stalker-like at worst, pestering at best!

We need to remember that the Cowboys were also blitzing with 10 men in the box, taking shots at Peterson and Favre, etc... I read on another forum that you could see Favre mouth the words "They still want to play!?" after some cheap hits late. The next play he threw the TD pass to Shianco. Someone once said, "I'll make a deal with you, if you stop trying to score, then we'll stop trying to score." The Cowboy players spent the game over-celebrating every time they did something better than mediocre; pointing at themselves, etc... Brooking tackled Berrian and laid on him for 6 seconds until the ref made him get off .... the play before the last TD. Then he had the gall to run over and flap his jaws at Favre on the Viking sideline after the TD? Talk about classless. Poor losers.

I totally agree, Sciguy.
If you don't want the Vikings to score, keep them out of the end zone for 60 minutes. There was no question that score was to set the tone for next week, which I think was done quite well.
I have been looking forward to a Vikings and Saints match-up all season. I think these were the two best teams in the NFC all year and I can't wait to see how it plays out on Sunday.
If the Vikings defense can keep up the pressure, it should be a lot of fun to watch.

What a beat-down today by the Vikings! They dominated the "hottest team in the NFL" for 60 minutes and in every aspect of the game! Let's keep it going and have two more games like the one today. And, anyone who thinks the Vikes 'ran up the score', quit your whining. With 6 minutes left, and down by 4 scores, the 'boys used their time outs. This set the tone that they were going to play the rest of the game. Someone should have told their defense.

It depends on your math

It depends on your math approach. You can choose to count using Ordinal numbers or Cardinal numbers:

Those following Ordinal Numbers naturally choose:
2001–2010 as the current decade
2001–2100 as the current century
2001–3000 as the current millennium

Those following Cardinal Numbers equally naturally choose:
2000-2009 as the past decade
2010–2019 as the current decade
2000–2099 as the current century
2000–2999 as the current millennium

There was a popular debate leading up to the celebrations of the year 2000 as to whether the beginning of that year should be understood as the beginning of a new millennium. The issue is tied to the convention of using Ordinal Numbers to count millennia (“3rd Millennium”) as opposed to using Cardinal Numbers (“the 2 thousands”). Depending on which numbering convention you are using both are correct. :)

Either way Happy New Year to everyone! :)

You mean as we start the last year of the first decade on the new millennium.
No year 0, so first Millennium was 1-1000, Second was 1001-2000.
So first year of this Millennium was 2001, so we just finished the ninth year.

So I guess the most important story so far is the sad state of mathematics :)

It's a no-brainer. The Lakers will be double the size of five Missota Conference schools next year and have roughly 1,000 more students than two others.

Prior Lake is one of the top 20 biggest schools in the state.

When the Lake Conference expanded from 10 to 11 teams a few years ago (adding Lakeville South), Prior Lake should have made the leap to the Lake then making it 12 schools. But it completely missed the boat on that.

So kudos to Rodine for making this move, which should help advance the Laker sports programs.

In an answer to your question about the Number 4 in purple, I have a non-sports reply.
I am not used to being a football widow, but the two times he's taken the field so far, I might as will be single. No errand running will be done, no quiet dinners together, even a two-sided conversation is expecting a lot.

This is one way I keep ribs

This is one way I keep ribs juicy when grilling them:
First, I marinade the ribs just the way I would in the crock pot or oven.
Then I take the ribs out of the marinade and brown them on the grill.
Next I take them off the grill, sauce them and put them back on the grill for about 10 minutes.
I repeat that step one more time: sauce and grill for 10 minutes.
Then take the ribs off the grill, place them in a pan with about 1/4 inch of water, cover the pan with aluminum foil and put it back on the grill for about 45 minutes.

Mason Jar “Mojo”

Mason Jar “Mojo” Marinade
Courtesy of Executive Chef Richard Fisher of Mystic Lake Casino

12 garlic cloves, minced
2 Scotch Bonnet (Habanero) peppers, seeded and minced
4 teaspoons cumin seeds, freshly toasted
2 teaspoons kosher salt
2 cups olive oil
1 cup fresh orange juice
¼ cup fresh lime juice
4 teaspoons sherry vinegar
2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
Fresh cracked black pepper to taste

Method:
1. Mix garlic, peppers and cumin together with a mortar and pestle. Transfer to a mixing bowl.
2. Heat the oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium heat. When oil reaches 120 degrees, add garlic, chili and cumin mixture. Turn off heat. Let stand and cool for 15 minutes. Whisk in all liquid ingredients. Season with salt and pepper. Pour into a Mason jar with a lid and date the jar. This marinade will hold under refrigeration for up to two months.
3. Use to marinate chicken, pork or flank steak with this spin on a traditional Latin Mojo Criollo.

You mention global cooling. This was a story that had no peer reviewed science to it and his since been rebuked.

@impampuch

re: "global warming QUACKS"

Unless those "quacks" are circumventing peer reviewed science than your argument doesn't hold water. The IPCC said in it's last report (2007) that "there is very high confidence that the net effect of human activities since 1750 has been one of warming".

http://www.ipcc.ch/

If you are curious about the IPCC and it's process feel free to read the following:

http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2007/08/transparency-of-th...

re: "flourescent bulbs" and "HAZMAT"

True.. disposing of flourescent bulbs is not a simple as tossing them in the trash, but you can recycle them in multiple locations and the benefits of dollars and CO2 saved high. Recycling and disposal are covered here:

http://www.pca.state.mn.us/publications/w-hhw4-30.pdf

Anything you do including

Anything you do including walking down a street can lead to major damage or bodily injury. All this law does is give the cops yet another reason to harass and bother you for stupid things. They claim they can see a fishline with a badge hanging from your rear view mirror yet they are on their cells texting and typing on their computers all the time. Watch a Scott County Sheriff and Prior Lake police officer, all the time, they went through a red light at holiday station store, no lights on but was fumbling with a cell phone, never ever did put on lights, just ran it. So all these laws do is give harassers more reason to harass, and the state more federal dollars to throw at all the welfare recipients in this state. Pretty stupid. Yeah it really doesn't make a lot of sense that a person riding a motorcycle with short and a t-shirt and tennis shoes is ok, but a person in a fully encased cage should have to wear a seat belt. Do not forget....they can only detect alcohol in the system now too, nothing else unless they take a blood test, but they are way to busy to do that, so all you prescription users ie drug users keep going you will never be caught. Happy roads to you this summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!
