Marlene Marie Adamek

Marlene “Mar” Adamek, 53, of Jordan, passed away at her home on Thursday, June 25, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation will be Monday, June 29, from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Jordan, and also one hour prior to the service at church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 30, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jordan.

Philip C. Megorden

Philip C. Megorden, 80, of Prior Lake, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s at Heart to Home Residence, Mendota Heights.Philip MegordenPhilip Megorden

He was born in Princeton, Minn. On Dec. 19, 1928 to the Rev. Tennis and Ruth (Olson) Megorden. He married Gladys E. Brenna on Aug. 29, 1953 in Gully, Minn.

Colonel Megorden served in United States Army in World War II and later enlisted in the North Dakota and Minnesota National Guards and retired after 33 years. His life was dedicated to his family, military and education.

Memorials are preferred to Heart to Home, Inc., 659 Freeway Road South, Mendota Heights, MN 55118; Attention: Josh Moxley Cesaro.

Philip was employed as the Director of Work Programs with the Fergus Falls State Hospital prior to retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gladys; sons, Scott (Barbara), Corby (Vilma) Megorden, daughter, Ruth Ann (Jeff) DeFrang; granddaughters, Sarah Megorden, Mary (James) Wilson; brothers, Herbert (Roxanne), Howard (Marilyn) Megorden; sister, Kathryn (Roy) Gjertsen; half brothers, Tim and Dan Megorden; half sisters, Rachel Hurni and Rebecca Schilling.

He was preceded in death by parents and sister, Alphild Tjon.

Visitation is after 9 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, Prior Lake. Memorial Service is Thursday, July 2, at 10:30 a.m. at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church with the Rev. Peter Strommen officiating.

Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with military honors.

Cary Alan Peterson

Cary Peterson, 58, of Prior Lake, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Highland Chateau Nursing Home in St. Paul.

Cary was born Aug. 21, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents, Don and Peggy (Pebley) Peterson. He married Colleen Linder on Aug. 2, 1985 in Tarrant County, Texas. Cary retired from the United States Army after 20 years as a combat medic and was a member of the Prior Lake V.F.W. Post 6208.

He will be loved and forever missed by his wife, Colleen; children, Alan (Kate) Blamires of Salt Lake City, Utah, Eric (Sarah) Blamires of New Jersey, Julie Blamires of Salt Lake City, Corey (Dia) Peterson of North Richland Hills, Texas, Caitlin Peterson of Prior Lake, Cara Peterson of Prior Lake; 13 grandchildren; his father, Don Peterson of Keller, Texas; sisters, Julie (Mike) Kingeter of North Richland Hills, Texas, Shawn (Bruce) Taylor of Rhome, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Peterson, and son, Jesse Blamires.

Celebration of Life Service was held Friday, June 26, at 11 a.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Prior Lake, with a visitation two hours prior to the service. Interment is Monday, June 29, at 2 p.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Military honors were provided by the Prior Lake V.F.W. Post 6208 Honor Guard and the Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad.

LeRoy Hentges

LeRoy "Lee" Hentges, 70, of Jordan, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home. LeRoy HentgesLeRoy Hentges

Lee was born Aug. 18, 1938 in New Prague to parents Raymond N. and Helen M. (Schloesser) Hentges. He married Charlotte “Shirley” Javurek on Nov. 28, 1959 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. Lee was a member of the Jordan Commercial Club, the Knights of Columbus in Jordan, with the Catholic Aid for 50-plus years and an active member of St. John’s Parish as a Eucharistic Minister, usher and Adoration Adorer. A volunteer with Meals on Wheels, he enjoyed his card clubs, watching and reading about sports especially the Twins and Vikings, played on the town baseball team, the Jordan Brewers and played softball with the “old timers.” Lee also enjoyed traveling and activities with family and friends. Lee worked 18 years at the K-Mart Distribution Center in Shakopee.

He will be loved and forever missed by his wife, Shirley; children, Lori (Karl) Brown of Shakopee, Kimberly (James) Ericson of Prior Lake, David (Mary) Hentges of Shoreview, Mary (John) Andren of Apple Valley; grandchildren, Brittany, Jayme, Kristopher, Sam, Annie, Charlie, Jack and Lauren; brother, Melvin (Ellen) Hentges of Jordan; brothers-in-law Charles Sargent of Colorado, Tom Panek of Prior Lake; special niece, Beth Hentges; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation was Tuesday, June 23, from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home, Jordan. Visitation was also at the church one hour prior to services.

Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jordan. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Jordan. Pallbearers were James Ericson, Karl Brown, John Andren, Kristopher Brown, Sam Hentges, Jim Hentges, Mark Panek and Don Link.
