Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 14900 block of Highland Court at about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday.

No one was injured, but a family dog died as a result of a fire, Prior Lake Fire Chief Doug Hartman said.

The fire is believed to have started on the back porch of the home and spread into the home.

Mdewakanton Emercency Services, Allina and the Savage Fire Department provided mutual aid to Prior Lake firefighters.

The cause of the fire and amount of damages to the home are unknown at this time.
