U.S. Rep. John Kline’s office has announced a lottery for constituents who would like tickets to attend the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama.
Residents of Minnesota’s Second Congressional District who wish to be entered into the ticket lottery should call Kline’s Burnsville office at (952) 808-1213 or his Washington, D.C. office at (202) 225-2271 no later than noon Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Applicants should be prepared to provide their name, address, e-mail address and daytime telephone number. Applicants also will be asked whether they are requesting one, two or four tickets and must be prepared to provide the names of all individuals who will be using the tickets. Individuals who already have provided this information to a member of Kline’s staff have been entered into the lottery and do not need to call again.Winners will be selected at random in a drawing on Dec. 1. Those who receive tickets will be contacted directly and provided with specific information for retrieving the tickets. All tickets must be picked up in person – with valid photo identification – from the Washington, D.C. office the morning of Monday, Jan. 19. For security reasons, there can be no exceptions to this procedure.
