Parents may have to be flexible for “Take Your Child to Work” day this year if they have a fifth-grader in the Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools.

The event on Thursday, April 24, conflicts with the fifth-grade MCA math test in the morning.

Due to the participation rate expected by the state for testing, fifth-grade students will need to attend school in the morning to participate in tests, the School District stated.

In the afternoon, students will be free to attend their parents’ workplaces as long as they have completed a permission form.

Students are expected to make up work they miss from classes during that time. When they return to class, they’ll be asked by teachers to share what they learned.
