St. Michael’s School will host Jumpstart’s Read for the Record at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2. Jumpstart’s Read for the Record is a national campaign designed to encourage hundreds of thousands of children and adults from across the country to read the same book on the same day to raise public awareness about disparities in early education. This year’s book, “Corduroy,” showcases one of the best-loved bears in children’s books. – Joanna Miller
