The South Metro Boys’ Dance Troupe performed the “Neutron Dance,” a tap dance number choreographed by instructor Brad Schaffer, at the Minnesota State Fair’s Leinie Lodge Bandshell last Sunday. Family classes begin in fall

Prior Lake-Savage Early Childhood Family Education fall classes will start soon. The fall 2008 brochure was mailed during the week of Aug. 4. If residents are not on the mailing list and would like to receive a brochure, they should call the Family Center Office at (952) 226-0950.

Royal shares 7 secrets of a modern-day Renaissance

Angie Kinser may be the only Prior Lake resident who knows the secrets of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

This year, she’s touted by coordinators as the Shakopee-based festival’s sole entertainer from neighboring Prior Lake.


Firearms safety course starts Aug. 19

The Prior Lake Sportsmen’s Club and VFW are sponsoring a firearms safety course. Participants must be at least 11 years old prior to the first class.

The course will consist of five sessions on Aug. 19, 21, 26 and 28 and Sept. 9 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in the lower level of the VFW, 16306 Main Ave.


Wanted: Bridge players

Bridge players are needed to play the fourth Tuesday of the month, September through May, at 9:30 a.m. at the Prior Lake Library, 16210 Eagle Creek Ave.

A total of 24 hands are played each session. Men and women are welcome.

A festival fit for a queen

Angie Kinser of Prior Lake will travel back in time beginning this Saturday, Aug. 16, as the Minnesota Renaissance Festival opens its gates in Shakopee.
